We’re excited to introduce the Clay Ranch Quarter Horses Select Sale Trail Challenge! This event is intended to showcase Select Sale graduates, highlight the quality of Clay Ranch Quarter Horses’ breeding program, and most of all, give the owners of Clay Ranch-bred horses a venue for fun and healthy competition!
The event is open to all Clay Ranch Quarter Horses Select Sale graduates, dating back to the inaugural sale at Lake Odessa Livestock Auction in October 2016. Yearlings, three- and four-year olds purchased at the 2017 Spring Sale at Lake Odessa Livestock are also eligible.
When: Friday, September 19 at 4 p.m., in conjunction with the 2025 Select Sale Preview
Where: Ravenna Auction, 3265 Slocum Rd., Ravenna, MI 49451
Video entries must be submitted no later than August 1. The top ten finalists and three alternates will be selected and notified no later than August 15.

Entry Process & Video Criteria:
Provide the information requested within the entry form below, including a 2-4 minute video showcasing your skills as a horse and rider combination and a copy of the horse’s AQHA registration papers.
The event team will evaluate all entries and select the top ten finalists to compete in the Ranch Trail Challenge.
The team will evaluate:
Whether the horses is willingly and easily guided
The horse’s willingness to extend at all gaits
Ability to handle situations encountered during typical ranch work (logs, gates, bridges, obstacle drag, sidepass, ground tie, etc.)
Attitude and mannerisms exhibited by the horse
General condition of the horse
